Free computer recycling

Old computers and cellphones can be recycled free on Saturday and more than 50 drop-off locations around the country are expected to divert 1000 tonnes of electronic waste from landfills as part of national eDay.

The Government estimates 80,000 tonnes of electronic waste is disposed of into landfills each year.

Since eDay started in 2007, about 196,000 items - totalling 2337 tonnes - have been recycled.
