Four people have been injured, one critically, after a three-car crash south of Auckland.
Emergency services were attending the serious crash on Kingseat Rd, Kingseat, that occurred just before 10am.
A police spokeswoman said three vehicles were involved and two vehicles have gone down a bank.
Four occupants had been trapped in the vehicles.
One man in his 60s was in a critical condition, while two people had serious injuries and one person had moderate injuries.
The Auckland Westpac Rescue helicopter flew the critically-injured man to Auckland City Hospital.
He had suffered multiple injuries and was given blood enroute to hospital, spokesman said.
Police had put diversions in place at Kingseat and Irwin Rds, and Kingseat and Glenbrook Rds.
The road would be closed for some time.
The Serious Crash Unit was attending and police advised motorists to avoid the area if possible.
