Save Four people have been rushed to hospital after the vehicle they were in hit a tree near Arthur's Pass this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the incident, which took place 5km from Arthur's Pass towards Christchurch, shortly after 3.20pm.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said four people were taken
to Christchurch Hospital with injuries, all in a moderate condition.
Three were transported by two separate helicopters and one was taken by ambulance.
Three fire brigades were also called to the incident after the tree fell on top of the vehicle as a result of the collision.
