Another complaint of historical sexual improprieties has been raised against police officers in Rotorua.
A police inquiry, a Police Complaints Authority inquiry and a commission of inquiry are to be held into allegations three police officers, including assistant commissioner and Auckland police commander Clint Rickards, pack raped Louise Nicholas andviolated her with a baton in Rotorua in 1986, when she was 18.
The two other men involved in the allegations -- Tauranga city councillor Brad Shipton and Napier car dealer Bob Schollum -- have since left the force.
All three have vigorously denied the allegations.
Tonight TV One reported allegations by another woman against Mr Shipton and Mr Schollum.
The woman claimed that while she was a schoolgirl on work experience with the Rotorua police she had sex with a policeman while another watched. The woman, now in her 30s, lodged a formal complaint with police today.
Parts of an affidavit from the woman were read on air tonight. The woman said she was about 16 years old at the time and had wanted to be a policewoman. She had gone out with police on a nightshift three or four times.
She said that Mr Schollum invited her out on a patrol. She said she was later invited back to a police house where he had sex with her.
She said Mr Shipton walked into the room.
"I said 'What's he doing in here?'"
Question: Do you remember what was said?
Complainant: "Along the lines of that he was going to join in."
She said Mr Shipton watched them have sex for a while and then left the room.
"I told them I wanted to leave while I was still in the bedroom and they sort of tried to talk to me about what happened and not to say anything to anybody," she said.
A police spokeswoman told NZPA tonight that police were aware of the woman's complaint and Deputy Police Commissioner Steve Long was investigating.
Police were considering whether to handle the latest complaint as part of the Nicholas inquiry, she said.
