Ross Thomas Blackadder, father of former All Black captain Todd Blackadder, has denied two charges of assaulting a man on March 7.
Blackadder, a 55-year-old Christchurch car dealer, was granted a registrar's remand without having to appear in the Christchurch District Court.
He was remanded on bail until May for a status hearing.
