A 37-year-old forestry worker has been airlifted to Waikato Hospital following a fall while working in Pureora Forest, south of Benneydale, about 35km south of Te Kuiti, this morning.
The Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance was called out to retrieve the man, who sustained a head injury.
Pilot Loren Haisley said the man slipped off a log and fell head first onto another log, causing a laceration and swelling to his forehead.
He was flown to Waikato Hospital for treatment and observation.
