Ford says its high performance vehicle segment is an important part of its history.
Those blue oval folk disheartened with Ford New Zealand's decision not to bring in the FPV GT R-Spec will be pleased to hear that the company has ripped up the handbrake and executed a perfect about-turn.
Eleven of the new mid-range FPVs are on their way to New Zealand, and
local dealers snapped up the cars in a matter of minutes.
Pricing is yet to be announced, but it is expected to be around the same place in the range that the model will - between the GT and high-spec GT-P and GT-E versions.
It gets no more power than existing 335kW models sold in New Zealand, but scores launch control and a much-needed suspension upgrade, including new springs, retuned shocks, bigger control arms and a thicker anti-roll bar.
The front end also gets modified dampers and improved upper strut mounts and control arm bushes, which will probably reduce front-end bounce.
