Fancy being the only person on the block with a Boeing 747 as your house? For a cool $130,000, the dream could come true.

A Qantas 747-400 forward airframe and passenger cabin is up for sale on the auction website Trade Me.

While there had been other planes sold on the website, this was believed to be the largest listing, a Trade Me spokesman said.

The vendor, airlinetraining, is asking $130,000 or near offer for the item that includes cockpit lining, quadrant, control columns, upper deck and lower deck airframe and cabin with passenger cabin fittings.

Trade Me has suggested the buyer could modify it into a crew training simulator.

It could also be used as an evacuation trainer, film prop, house or as a static display, the website said.

Prospective buyers can inspect the plane by appointment, but it is based in Melbourne.

Buyer-be-warned though, additional costs would be expected for breakdown, packaging and shipping or reassembly.

The plane has garnered a lot of attention, with more than 30,000 people viewing the page.

Trade Me has 150 planes listed on its website at the moment, the spokesman said.

One of the most memorable listings in the past was a MiG fighter jet that sold in September 2010 for $59,454 and attracted more than 250,000 views.
