Flood bill mounts

Households and businesses are starting to add up the damage after the worst flooding in 50 years hit Westport at the weekend.

At least 20 dwellings were inundated with water up to 40cm deep after 12 hours of heavy rain.

Westport fire chief Pat O'Dea said it was the worst flooding he had seen in 47 years as a firefighter.
