A Hamilton 5-year-old suffered serious leg injuries when he was struck by a van while walking home from school yesterday.
Police said it appeared the Pukete School pupil ran out in front of the van on Sherwood Drive just after 3pm.
The driver, who was on her way to collect
her children from school, was distressed by the accident and police were interviewing her.
The boy was taken to Waikato Hospital.
