The first round of the Wellington secondary schools premier one boys' competition saw Wairarapa College place third and Rathkeale fifth. Wellington College headed the table with 25 points, followed by HIBS 21, Wairarapa 18, Scots 15, Rathkeale 12, Rongotai 4, Paraparaumu and St Pats Town, both 3.
