One person is in Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries after two cars collided shortly before 10pm on Tuesday night.
The crash happened on State Highway 1 in Waikouaiti, Dunedin, a St John spokesman said.
The person was flown to hospital by helicopter and four more people were taken by ambulance
