Five in hospital after overnight crashes

Five people have been admitted to hospital following two separate crashes in the lower North Island overnight.

In Featherston in the Wairarapa, a car left the road and hit a tree on Western Lake Rd at midnight.

A person was flown to Wellington Hospital in a serious condition and three others were taken to Wairarapa Hospital.

The second crash happened just before 6am when a car and a motorcycle collided in Mt Victoria in Wellington.

One person is in a serious condition in hospital.
