Five hurt in 'horrific' two car smash

Save Five people were seriously injured when two cars collided near Wanaka yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Cardrona Valley Road, south of Wanaka, about 4.40pm.
Senior Sergeant Allan Grindell of Wanaka police said a north bound Nissan, carrying two people, collided with a Hyundai, with three occupants.
All five were flown to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries, he said.
Police, including a serious crash investigator, and the fire service attended the scene.
The road was closed for about three hours Mr Grindell said.
