“We are pleased the camera coverage now adds Foxton town centre to those in Himatangi, Foxton Beach, Waitarere, Levin and Shannon. We look forward to the next stage.”
Horowhenua Community Camera Trust’s Ted Melton said the community board supported the project.
“The board and the Horowhenua District councillors have provided funding and encouragement. I also want to thank Foxton sponsors Property Brokers and New World and express appreciation to fellow trustee Brett Gillies. Brett has worked closely with wonderful Foxton business and community people who have helped make this happen.”
The trust’s future developments adviser Brett Gillies said Shannon residents have also been on board with the project.
“The energy and determination of Shannon iwi, business and community people have been awesome. Shannon Four Square’s proprietor has been incredibly supportive of Shannon’s first-stage safety camera coverage. There is more to come in Shannon and Foxton.”
