A Carterton fire crew cleared business premises that a damaged sprinkler flooded on Thursday.
Carterton firefighters mopped up flooding and saved stock from water damage at business premises in the town yesterday.
Fire chief Wayne Robinson said a fire crew was called to PGG Wrightson in High St North soon after 9am after a forklift operator had unintentionally detached a sprinkler head while using
the machine in the business' storeroom.
He said there was no real loss of stock and firefighters had taken a little more than half an hour to mop up the ensuing flood and attach a hose to the malfunctioning sprinkler and draining it of water.
