Two helicopters are helping fight a fire at a private forestry block in the Far North today.
Northern Fire shift manager Megan Ruru said the helicopters and three fire crews were fighting the blaze at a pine plantation on Te Ahu Rd in Te Kao.
The fire, which broke out
at about 11am, had engulfed 50m of young pine and scrub.
