Firefighters extinguished a "suspicious" rubbish fire in Papakura this afternoon at a site used by the Presbyterian Church.

The Fire Service said that because the fire in Edinburgh Ave at about 4.15pm was suspicious, the police had attended.

The fire was on the grounds of the Rosehill Church, part of the local Presbyterian parish.
