A South Auckland street is getting an unexpected clean after a shampoo spill and morning rain caused headaches for motorists.
Northern Fire Communications' shift manager Scott Osmond said firefighters were called to Wiri Station Rd in Wiri at 10am.
Two days ago a base product for shampoo had spilled off
a truck and this morning's rain had made it resurface, Osmond said.
The spill happened between Ash and Roscommon roads, but Wiri Station Rd remained open.
"We're washing it away and the council are there too."
