Firefighters are battling a South Auckland house fire after rescuing a person from the blaze.
Ryan Geen, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson, told the Herald several reports of a structure fire on Station Rd, Takanini, were received from 6.24pm today.
The single-storey building was fully alight whencrews from Māngere, Papakura and Papatoetoe arrived at the scene.
Firefighters entered the burning house after receiving calls on the way to the incident over fears a person may be trapped inside.
The occupant was quickly located and is now in the care of Hato Hone St John.
