Firefighters are battling a large scrub fire near Dunedin.
A Fire Service spokesman said staff were alerted to the vegetation blaze in Waldronville, just south of Dunedin, about 6.15pm.
"The blaze at its height was described as three to five hectares."
Multiple fire service trucks attended, as well as two
helicopters, the spokesman said.
The fire was now under control and the Otago Rural Fire Service had taken charge of the incident.
