A firefighter was injured while trying to put out a large house fire in Auckland today.
Up to 12 fire trucks were called out to the blaze on Ballymore Drive, in Pinehill, on the North Shore just after 4pm.
It is understood no one was at home at the time.
Northern fire communications shift manager Dallas Ramsay said the Fire Service received multiple calls about the blaze and the house was "well involved'' when the firefighters arrived.
One firefighter suffered what was said to be minor burns while helping to douse the flames. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
