A Waihi mother-of-two is desperate to know who threw a molotov cocktail bomb through her garage window, causing a fire that she managed to put out with a garden hose.
The woman awoke to a "really, really loud bang" about 2.40am on Sunday and saw her garage roof was ablaze.
"i just flew out the door and noticed there was a flaming mess on the driveway as well. I got the hose ... and aimed it at the roof.
"Then I went around to the driveway and saw that it was a bottle with a flaming rag sticking out of it," she said.
The woman, who did not want to be named for fear of retaliation, said a Woodstock Bourbon bottle and a V energy drink bottle both filled with petrol and stuffed with lit rags were thrown into her Mataura Rd property, next to the Waihi East School.
"By then there was heaps of smoke, so I dropped the phone and was just trying to put it out ... and eventually I managed to put it out."
