Fire crews have responded to a fire at Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland
The small fire started in one of the hospital's buildings before 8.15pm tonight, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said.
Sprinklers extinguished the fire and crews were now using thermal imaging cameras to ensure there were
no hot spots.
A FENZ salvage crew was also deployed to clean water damage caused by the sprinkler.
