Fire destroys Southland school building

A fire has destroyed a building at a school in Southland tonight.

Emergency services were called to East Gore School, on Wentworth St, just after 8pm.

A spokesman for southern fire communications said the building - which housed an old swimming pool - was well involved when they arrived.

The blaze is being treated as suspicious and fire safety inspectors will be investigating.
