Fire crews are dealing with a truck fire on State Highway 29, south of Matamata this morning.

They were called to Te Poi shortly before 4am.

The driver hasn't been harmed.

It comes as an investigation is to take place after a fire at a two storey home in the Hamilton suburb of Hillcrest, which is thought to be suspicious.

Around 16 firefighters battled the blaze when they were called by a neighbour before 1am.

Neighbours told the Fire Service the people who were living at the house have moved out.

And more than 30 firefighters battled a blaze at a wood shed just out of Tirau last night.

The shed went up in flames around 10.30pm.

No one was injured.
