Fire consumes house in Wanganui

Fire crews are battling a house fire in Wanganui this morning.

Central fire communications shift manager Murray Dunbar said the fire was "well-involved" when crews arrived just after 10.30am.

"We're working to extinguish it."

No one was believed to have been inside, and there were no injuries, he said.

Two trucks would remain at the scene until the fire was put out.

It was not yet known how the blaze began.
