Save A large fire has broken out in a firewood factory south of Napier.
Ten fire crews rushed to the blaze on State Highway 2 in Awatoto at 6:47am.
A Fire Service central communications spokesman said the fire started when a machine used to dry firewood overheated.
It burned through the
firewood in the machine before spreading to one of the walls in the 150 metre by 30 metre factory.
The fire was under control by 8:30am, the spokesman said.
