A laundromat in Kerikeri has been damaged by fire today.
Northern Fire Service shift manager Karen Larking said the alarm was raised just after 5am at the Cobham Road shop.
The laundromat, which is in a block of shops that includes several takeaway restaurants and a pet shop, was fully
involved in fire.
Ms Larking two fire crews only had to travel a short distance to the blaze as it was virtually next door to the station.
No one was in the building when the fire broke out, she said.
