A central Auckland hotel was evacuated this morning after a fire in the laundry. Fire services were called to the fire in the basement of the Copthorne Hotel on Anzac Ave in the CBD at 7:50.
A fire spokesman said the fire was contained to the laundry.
He said upto nine fire engines were on site at the incident's peak, but only two are still there.
A fire investigator is also on site to establish the cause of the fire.
