Carterton's Field of Remembrance Service yesterday had an extra touch - a final cross placed for the Unknown Soldier.
Carterton RSA president Rex Kenny and Mayor John Booth placed the cross, bringing the number of crosses in Memorial Park to 106.

Carterton School pupils attended, including Rebecca Atkinson, 7, who wore a nurse's red top with lieutenant pips and her great-grandmother's medals.
