Fiji leader to address UN

Fiji coup leader Commodore Frank Bainimarama is preparing to address the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York next week.

A spokesman for Fiji's military Government confirmed the interim Prime Minister intended to address the meeting but was unable to say which issues would be discussed.

Commodore Bainimarama had promised to hold elections by the end of next March but now says reforms in the country must proceed first.
