Field jurors ask to listen to interview

The jury deliberating in the Taito Phillip Field trial today asked to listen to extracts of the former MP's interview with barrister Noel Ingram QC.

Mr Ingram lead the Government inquiry into Field.

The Jury asked to see questions raised in the interview about Crown witness Sunan Siriwan and his time in Samoa.

They also wanted to see questions abnout who had carried out work on Field's properties.

The jury began its fourth day of deliberations in the High Court in Auckland at 9am.

Yesterday the jurors revealed they were having trouble reaching a unanimous verdict on all counts.

Field, former Mangere MP, faces 12 charges of bribery and corruption alleging he had Thai nationals carry out work on his properties in return for immigration assistance between November 2002 and October 2005.

He also faces 23 charges of wilfully attempting to obstruct or pervert the course of justice, alleging he tried to derail an investigation by Mr Ingram into the work on his homes.
