Fears for missing woman in Wellington

Police are concerned for the wellbeing of an elderly woman missing since leaving a medical centre in the Wellington suburb of Newtown yesterday.

Police said the 81-year-old woman planned to walk to Wellington Hospital after leaving the After Hours Medical Centre on Adelaide Rd at about 1.30pm, but never showed.

The woman is described as European of Greek descent wearing a green coat, skirt, grey stockings, black shoes and carrying a black handbag.

She has limited English and is likely to have been walking very slowly.

Anyone who may have seen her was urged to contact Wellington police.
