A Feilding woman who died after suffering injuries in her home last week has been publicly named by police.
Karen Makoare, 49, was taken to Palmerston North Hospital after she was found severely injured at her home last Thursday night.
She died yesterday morning in the presence of her family,police said.
Ms Makoare's death was being treated as a homicide, and investigators said they had a clear understanding of her movements in the days leading up to the incident.
A post mortem examination was completed in Palmerston North today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Sheridan said police had spoken to a number of Ms Makoare's associates, including those who interacted with her in the days leading up to her hospitalisation.
"The investigation is ongoing and we have further inquiries to make, including seeking expert medical advice about a head injury which Karen had sustained,'' he said.
