Fatal road accident in Waikato

Two people are dead and two critically injured after a crash involving two vehicles in the Waikato this afternoon.

The Police Serious Crash Investigation Team are currently at the scene of the two-car crash at Gordonton Road near Taupiri.

A St John spokesman said two people had critical injuries, and two of those were still trapped in a vehicle. The cause of the crash was unknown.

Road closures are in place at Ballard and Whitikahu Roads.
