UPDATED: Police have confirmed the victim of a fatal quad bike accident on a farm in Featherston this morning was a 10-year-old boy.
Wairarapa Response Manager Acting Senior Sergeant Rob Rackliff of Wairarapa Police says emergency services were called to the property around 10am this morning where a 10-year-old boy wasfound under a quad bike.
"CPR was performed at the scene, but sadly the boy was deceased. Enquiries so far indicate that the boy had gone out on the quad bike and was found by his father a short time later."
Serious crash investigators are completing a thorough scene examination and Police have notified the Coroner.
Fire services were also called to the farm on Kahutara Rd, South Wairarapa at 10am.
Fire Communications referred queries about the incident to the police.
