Fatal motorcycle crash south of Auckland

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash south of Auckland this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Kohekohe-Karioitahi Rd, 5km south of Waiuku, at about 8am.

Police said the circumstances leading to the crash were not clear and it was not known whether any other vehicle was involved.

The road had been closed but traffic had not been affected in the rural area.

The police serious crash unit is investigating.
