Fatal crash with truck in Kaimai ranges

A person has died in a road accident involving a truck on the Lower Kaimai ranges in the Bay of Plenty today.

Police said in a statement to media that traffic diversions are in place on State Highway 29 after a car and truck collided there about 1.30pm.

The statement said the crash happened near the intersection with Poripori Rd.

"The driver of the car died at the scene.

"Traffic diversions are in place and the police serious crash unit will be investigating," the statement said.
