A person has been killed in vehicle crash on Papamoa Beach in the Western Bay of Plenty tonight.
Emergency services were called to the incident at the southern end of the beach just before 8pm.
Fire Service spokesman Scott Osmond said staff had been required to extricate the dead person
from the wreckage.
An ambulance spokeswoman said several people had minor injuries, however they were not transported to hospital.
Papamoa is a popular spot for holiday makers.
