The man who died is thought to be aged in his late 20s to early 30s.
Sergeant Brian Leslie of the Henderson police said it looked like the car could have flipped a couple of times.
A tow-truck is waiting at the scene.
A reporter at the scene said the front of the car was badly crushed.
About 120m of road is blocked off to general traffic with residents allowed through.
Entry and exit from Armeins Road onto McEntee Road is also closed.
It was expected that these road closures would be in place until at least 4pm.
Police wouldn't release information on the deceased person until family had been notified.
