Fatal crash in Southland

One person is dead following a crash near Edendale, Southland, this morning.

Southern police communications inspector Warren Kemp said two cars collided about 10km south of Edendale at 9.45am.

It was not known if anyone else was injured and emergency services were at the scene, he said.

The MetService said conditions in Southland today were cold and wet with snow to low levels.
