Our Fast Fire series puts a range of issues to the party leaders, from cannabis and immigration to God and the Treaty of Waitangi. Their answers are as surprising andas they are varied.
A cash injection for Team NZ's next bid to win the Auld Mug is most likely under a National-led Government, but far from certain if the Labour Party wins the election.
Most leaders are against the decriminalisation of cannabis but Green's co-leader Metiria Turei says her party is in favour of it, while Mana leader Hone Harawira supports cannabis for medicinal purposes.
Right-leaning parties argue that job-growth is the most effective way to bridge that inequality gap, but Labour and the Greens say taxing the rich to put more resources towards the poor is the best solution.
As for which political leader they admire most, Maori Party founder Tariana Turia and former Governor-General and National Party Prime Minister Sir Keith Holyoake feature prominently.
