The parents of a man who suffered a "violent death" have urged the tightknit Helensville community to come forward with clues to solve their son's death.
Bruce and Sue McMurdo made an emotional public plea to help police hunt the killer of Lee Ross McMurdo, who was found dead in
the driveway of his home three weeks ago.
Police have described the homicide inquiry as a real "whodunnit".
Mr McMurdo said news of his only son's death was "absolutely devastating".
Lee McMurdo was a a much-loved son, brother and father to three lovely children who would be sadly missed forever.
