The family of a 42-year-old father of two is desperate for news after he went missing from his Masterton home a week ago.
Police are growing increasingly concerned for Barry Sears' safety and wellbeing, while his family say they are more and more desperate for information regarding his whereabouts.
Barry'sfather, Martin Sears, said his son's disappearance from his home last Thursday was totally out of the blue.
"Barry is a much loved and devoted father who is greatly missed at home, especially by his wife and two small children.
"His sons are asking when daddy will be home and bedtimes are particularly hard. His wife is desperate for news and alarmed that something may have happened to him."
Martin Sears said it was totally out of character for his son not to have contacted his family, and to be away from his boys for so long.
"As time goes on, we are all more seriously concerned for his safety and wellbeing, and it is critical that we hear something concerning his whereabouts soon."
Barry Sears, originally from Lower Hutt, is known nationally for his artistry in stained glass and lead lighting.
Detective Sergeant Bill Van Woerkom of Wairarapa police said he was believed to be travelling in a 1993 silver-grey Toyota Townace van, registration CZP104.
Mr Sears may be camping by the coast, a lake or river, and has associations with the Taupo and Gisborne regions
