Extradition of Kiwi sought

New Zealand authorities are seeking to extradite from Australia a man accused of fraud involving $3 million.

Loizos Michaels was due to stand trial in the Auckland District Court this month. But the date was vacated as it was unlikely he would be returned to New Zealand in time. Michaels went to Australia last year after he was given his passport back, having told a judge he needed it to visit his sick mother in Melbourne. He did not return.
