You can always rely on Deborah Sweeney for a good cardi.

The Wellingtonian has been channeling the vintage nana chic vein for several years now, and her new collection, Shadow Play, did much of the same.

The show opened with a hoot, literally - an owl call, and an acid wash denim dress with wolf print. Bogan chic anyone?

Of course this is Sweeney, so there was a pretty girlish bow on the back.

This range was inspired by dark forest nights, and Sweeney's muse was Kate Bush.

Her influence is seen in the 80s shapes - batwing sleeves, oversized ponchos and tiers of chiffon ruffles.

The marigold yellow that keeps popping up in almost every collection so far this week was there, notably in a very cute cable knit cardigan.

Other key pieces? The plaid coat, brocade bow dress with zip front and the willow and ivy headpieces, made especially for Sweeney by Natalie Chan.
