Ex-school principal in court for fraud

A former high profile Hamilton school principal appeared in Hamilton District Court today facing 61 fraud charges.

Martin Elliott, who resigned from Fraser High School last year faced more than 60 charges of fraud, money laundering and false accounting.

He entered no pleas and his lawyer indicated Elliott planned to defend the charges.

Elliott, a Justice of the Peace and former mayoral candidate, appeared before a registrar and was remanded on bail to December 7.
