English heads for Brussels

Prime Minister John Key has decided to send Deputy Prime Minister Bill English to the first Asia-Europe leaders' summit.

Mr English will then don his Finance Minister's hat to hold meetings in Britain and the United States with bankers, investors and other finance ministers.

The Asia Europe summit will be in Brussels next week and New Zealand, Australia and Russia are to be accepted as members.
