One dead after two-vehicle crash closes State Highway 73 near Sheffield

One person has died after a two-vehicle crash in Canterbury.

Police said emergency services responded to the crash on State Highway 73, near Deans Rd, Sheffield, about 2.50pm.

Two other people suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Police said the Serious Crash Unit is in attendance and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and detours are in place.
